Terry wary of backlash

Chelsea and England skipper John Terry is bracing himself for the backlash from Liverpool's derby defeat at Everton when the Reds visit Stamford Bridge for a Premiership showdown on Sunday.Liverpool had been tipped to challenge the champions this season but they are off the pace already after being held to a draw by Premiership newcomers Sheffield United and then going down to a 3-0 defeat in the derby match last weekend. "They got a bit of a thumping in their local derby which is a massive game for them," Terry said. "I'm sure their players and fans will all be very upset and they'll be travelling down here to win something." The task facing Rafael Benitez's side is daunting however. Liverpool have won just once at Stamford Bridge since 1989 and Chelsea have been invincible in league matches at their home base under Jose Mourinho. "We have to keep winning at this point in the season, especially in our home games because this has been our fortress in the last two seasons," said Terry. Terry admits however that players like Andriy Shevchenko and Michael Ballack have yet to be completely bedded in at Stamford Bridge. "It's clicked a bit but obviously not fully," the centreback acknowledged. "We're waiting for that to happen and when it does we'll start winning comfortably and things will look a lot greater from the touchline.
