'Stop posting of joint secy at district level'

Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) Coordination Committee yesterday urged the authorities concerned to stop posting of joint secretary at district level across the country to supervise all government activities.Committee President Nurul Huda and General Secretary Nazrul Islam in a joint statement said the government is planning to post joint secretary to rule over the high officials of other cadres working at the grassroots levels ignoring the idea of local government. They said when the highest court has already declared the provision of assigning a minister for a particular district, this step would create chaos in the administration ahead of the election.
