Six activists of Hijbut Tawhid, an Islamist group, were arrested in Gangni upazila of the district yesterday while they had been preaching their dogma. Police also seized 43 copies of Islamic books and 200 leaflets from the Hijbut men, who are the followers of Bayazid Khan Panni of Tangail. On information, a team of Gangni police raided Harabhanga village in the morning when the six were distributing the books and leaflets among the villagers. They were also calling upon the people to attend their "Jihadi Kafela" and to establish "real Islam," police said. The seized books propagate their ideology and ask the people to come forward to establish an Islamic state, while the leaflets read "this Islam is not real Islam," and so "Jihad is a must for all the Muslims to establish the real Islam."
