Outlaws kill UP member

Outlawed Jonojuddho, a faction of Purbo Banglar Communist Party (PBCP), chopped a Union Parishad (UP) member to death at Rishkhali Bazar in Harinakundu upazila in Jhenaidah on Wednesday night.The dead was identified as Alauddin Hossain Jhantu, 39, a member of Daulatpur UP. Police and witnesses said a gang of 20 blocked all the entrances of the Bazar and confined Alauddin at a tea stall when he was taking tea there at about 9:30pm. Four of the gang indiscriminately chopped Alauddin dragging him out from the tea stall. Alauddin died on the spot. Later, the killers left the spot chanting slogans in favour of Jonojuddho. Police Superintendent (SP) of Jhenaidah Shahriar Rahman visited the spot yesterday. When contacted, the SP told that police launched an operation to arrest the killers.
