3 killed in road accidents

At least three people were killed and 29 others injured in separate road accidents in Kurigram and Brahmanbaria yesterday.Our Correspondent from Kurigram reports: Three people were killed and 25 others injured in a road accident at Kanthalbari under Kurigram Sader upazila yesterday. The dead were identified as coach assistant Shabu, 28, superviser Babu, 28, and passenger Abdul 32. Babu and Abdul are inhabitant of Tangail and Shabu is a inhabitant of Rangpur. Three died on the spot while the injured were rushed to Kurigram Sadar Hospital in critical condition. The accident occurred when a night coach bound for Kurigram from Dhaka fell into the Kurigram-Rangpur roadside ditch near Kanthalbari bridge as the driver lost control over the steering. Our correspondent from Brahmanbaria adds: One person was killed and four others injured when a tempo fell into ditch on Kullapathar road under Kasba upazila yesterday. One tempo bound for Kullapathar from Kasba fell into the ditch while it was trying to take turn at Chandanasair village, leaving five people injured. Of the injured, one unidentified person succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
