The dead was identified as Shaheen,22, an employee of a furniture shop and son of Malek.

Sources said some youths called Shaheen out of his house at about 4.30am and his slaughtered body was recovered from Balur Math at about 10:00am.

Police sent the body to Salimullah Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Police said Shaheen might have been killed following enmity with his friends over toll. A case was filed in this connection.
