Demanding all-party dialogue, leaders of Jukta Front, newly formed political alliance, yesterday said the ongoing two-party dialogue is destroying multi-party democracy in the country. "Ongoing two-party dialogue is nothing but a drama as the two parties are same in their ideology and thoughts," said Bangabir Kader Siddiqui MP, president of Krishak Sramik Janata League (KSJL), while addressing a press conference at the National Press Club in the city. People won't accept the ongoing dialogue, as it is a conspiracy to strengthen the two-party system, he said. "Nevertheless, if they (AL, BNP) can reach a consensus, it will not be considered national consensus as this dialogue is not participated by all the major parties," he added. Juktafront leaders urged the President to take initiative for arranging an all-party dialogue regarding electoral reform proposals. They said the two-party's ongoing dialogue couldn't be meaningful as they are parrying all other national problems. "By arranging the two-party dialogue they are killing the multi-party democratic system," claimed ASM Abdur Rob, co-ordinator of Unity for Political Reforms (UPR). In a written statement, Abdul Malek Ratan, general secretary of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD), said, "We have also an eight-point demand like 14-party to hold the next general election in a free and fair manner. UPR member-secretary Abdul Baten, Advocate Fazlur Rahman and Prof Md Shafique of JSD and Akhter Hossain of Bangladesh Labour Party were present in the press conference.
