According to daily cause list, the contempt case coupled with the writ petition came up for fixing the date of hearing in the court's order of the day. When the matter came up before a division bench comprising Justice Nozrul Islam Chowdhury and Justice Zubayer Rahman Chowdhury, Barrister M Amir-Ul Islam, the counsel for Jalil, prayed for de-listing both the cases. The lawyer said he did it at the instruction of his client. He submitted that his client expressed his unwillingness to have the date fixed for hearings in view of the current "political situation".
