On November 6, a group of Islami Chhatra Shibir activists swooped on the students of the college on their way to submitting a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Police Super (SP) demanding security on the college campus following intrusion of miscreants into a female dormitory of the college.

The attack left 15 students, including two photojournalists injured.

Terming the attack a threat to the education and progress of women, Ain O Salish Kendra (ASK) demanded steps to ensure security of women on the college campus, proper investigation into the incident and punishment to the culprits, says a press release.

Bangladesh National Women Lawyers Association (BNWLA) voiced concern over the Shibir barbarity and said it would be a matter of great regret if any of the female students leave the college in fear of insecurity.
