CA asks law enforcers to take necessary steps


President and Chief Adviser to the Caretaker Government Iajuddin Ahmed yesterday asked the chiefs of the law-enforcement agencies to take all necessary measures for holding free and fair elections.

The president's directive came when the top bosses of different agencies called on him at Bangabhaban.

He said law and order has to be maintained at any cost for holding a free and fair general election.

"The government is committed to ensure security of public life and property," the president told the chiefs of the agencies.

Home Secretary, inspector General of police (IGP), director general of Bangladesh Rifles, chiefs of different intelligence agencies, directors general of Rab, Ansar, VDP, and Coastguard, inspector general (Prison), director general of Fire Service and DMP Commissioner attended the meeting.
