18 injured in AL-BNP clash in Khulna

A clash between activists of Awami League (AL) and BNP left at least 18 people injured last evening in Khalishpur Industrial Area.According to police, the clash erupted at around 6:15pm when two processions of BNP and AL were passing each other and some BNP activists threw brickbats at the AL procession. Police charged batons to bring the situation under control. Khalishpur Thana unit BNP accused AL of the attack, while AL denied the allegation. Eyewitnesses said attack on the AL procession was carried out first from the BNP procession without provocation.
