Afzal-Subarna pair up after 23 years in 'Hridoy Theke Paowa'


Mohammed Hossain Jemmy is always on the lookout for new concepts and new vistas in visual communication. He has embarked on his next film titled Hridoy Theke Paowa, a film with a social message. The film was formally launched at Dhaka Sheraton Hotel on November 10.

Coming back to mainstream feature films, Afzal Hossain and Subarna Mustafa will be seen together after 23 years. Eminent director Kazi Hayat will be making a guest appearance in the film. Other cast members include popular film stars Manna and Moushumi.

This film, based on a real life incident, relates the story of desperate measures taken by a father to save his son. Ratno is full of life and the apple of his father's eye. One day, which playing cricket, Ratno complains of extreme chest pain. After a check-up it becomes apparent that the young one needs an immediate heart transplant, which involves a huge amount of money.

Coming up with the sum becomes very difficult for his father Shoeb Reza. Shoeb urges the doctors of the hospital to extend a helping hand and save his son's life. But the doctors won't allow treatment without money. A desperate father turns to drastic measures to save his son.

Jemmy first shot to fame over five years ago, with the release of a successful Dhallywood movie titled Rajdhani.

While talking about his current film, Jemmy said, "Getting an opportunity to work with stars like Afzal, Subarna, Manna and Moushumi can be a great experience. I never had such a high profile launch for my films in the past. I always feel that my work should speak for itself."

Faridur Reza Shagor, managing director of Impress Telefilm said, "With our ongoing commitment to produce quality films, Hridoy Theke Paowa is one of our more ambitious projects, primarily because of its impressive cast and storyline. Given the nation's growing receptiveness to international cinema, we believe this film's content, cinematic grandeur and stellar cast will attract a wider audience. Banglalink is sponsoring the film."

There is a social element behind the film as well. A percentage of the profit is to be donated to the Bangladesh Heart Foundation.
