A soulful musical evening by Parveen Sultana

Cultural organisation Amra Surjomukhi organised a solo musical evening featuring Parveen Sultana on November 10 at the Public Library Auditorium. The event was held to mark the silver jubilee of Parveen's musical career.Parveen rendered songs ranging from patriotic, to love songs of Nazrul, Tagore and songs of bygone days. The songs were Sob kota janala khule dao na, Amay nohe go bhalobasho mor gaan, Boro asha kore eshechi go, Jokhon thambe kolahall, Sat bhai Champa, Bhalo achhi bhalo theko and many others. Veteran Nazrul singer Khalid Hossain, cultural personality Hena Kabir and lyricist Shahidullah Faraezi were present as special guests. Eminent educationist Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique was the chief guest while Professor Afzal Hossain presided over the programme.
