More sports bosses resign
Sports Reporter
A day after Ali Asghar's stepping down as Bangladesh Cricket Board president, two more sports federation bosses followed in his footsteps. Bangladesh Amateur Athletics Federation president Abdus Salam and to Bangladesh Volleyball Federation boss Nasiruddin Pintu -- both BNP leaders and appointed by the past government -- sent their resignation to sports adviser CM Shafi Sami's office yesterday. A few more are in the line to resign including Bangladesh Wrestling Federation president Salahuddin Ahmed, an ex-BNP MP and cycling chief Jainal Abedin Faruk, also political appointments like the other three. However, the caretaker government had already decided to remove the political appointments in different sports bodies with all these names in its list, it was learned. The ministry's delay has given them an opportunity to bow out with some honour.
