Mohammad Arif, 24, owner of an electrical accessories shop Ismail Electric on Commissioner Lane in Jatrabari, was attacked near the shop around 10:30am by the group which hacked him indiscriminately with sharp weapons.

After being rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) the on duty doctors declared him dead.

Father of the deceased, Ismail Bhuiyan, told police that one Zakir, who is well-known as an extortionist in the area, along with two other persons killed his son after he had left home for his shop.

A case was filed with Jatrabari police station in this connection.

None was arrested in this regard till filing of this report.
