Restaurant fined in Chittagong

A mobile court yesterday fined a restaurant owner Tk one lakh in the Chittagong Port area on charges of selling and preserving unhygienic food.Magistrate of the Chittagong Port Authority (CPA) Mohammad Munir Chowdhury in an anti-adulteration drive raided Orient Restaurant and found 45 kilograms of stale and adulterated food. He instantly fined the restaurant owner, a press release said. The court destroyed the unhygienic food and asked the owner to submit a statement and sample of the quality of prepared food everyday before the court.
