Eve Teasing
Rumana Siddique
When Herculean monsoon winds Enfolded the Krishnachura in his arms Teasing her petals to redness Did they see her tremble? Did they blame her passion?
When the Sun seduced the Sunflower so That she forgot all modesty And stared shamelessly smitten Did they call her tipsy? Did they think her a flirt?
When the Sky wooed the Earth With jeweled stars and furry clouds Until she arched up to Join him in a rainbow Did they hear her heartbeat? Did they call her wanton?
If her limbs tremble and her eyes stare If her mind is smitten And her heart beats wanton Why do they blame Eve?Rumana Siddique teaches English at Dhaka University.
