2 get 17 years in arms case in Satkhira

A court here Thursday sentenced two people to 17 years' imprisonment in an arms case.The convicts are Abdul Khaleq Majhi, 40, and Yunus Ali Sana, 42, of Komorpur village in Shyamnagar upazila. Two other accused, however, were acquitted. According to the prosecution, the police during a raid seized one pistol and three bullets from the house of Khaleq and one pistol and four bullets from the house of Sana on April 30, 2005. A case was filed against four people under the Arms Act. After examining the records and witnesses, Additional Sessions Judge M Mahbubul Alam handed down the verdict.
