Mymensingh hums with activity


Marking the Victory Day, Bangladesh Photo Journalist Association (BPJA), Mymensingh unit held a three-day photography exhibition at the local Town Hall premises. The photographs depicted the Liberation War and a variety of subjects related to day to day life.

Photojournalists Nazib Ashraf and Adiluzzaman Adil, president and secretary of BPJA, Biplob Kumar Guha Manik and Modhusudan Roy pitched in with around 100 photographs.

Alokchitri Shilpi Sangsad, a local organisation of photographers held a photography exhibition on our Liberation War and on open subjects at the same venue. Snapshots by eminent photographers of the country, such as Nayebuddin Ahmed, Mohammad Nawab Ali, Subudh Chanda, AHM Motaleb, Shanta and Fakrul Akanda, enriched the exhibition.

A large number of visitors thronged the venue to take have a glimpse of the photographs.

Meanwhile, Sommilito Sangskritik Jote Mymensingh unit undertook a four-day cultural programme which concluded on December 19. The venue for the musical soiree, dance, drama and discussions was Railway Station Krishnachura Chattar in the district town.

In addition, organisations such as Sammilito Sangskritik Jote local unit, Shabdha Abritti Charcha, Udichi Shilpi Ghosthi, Mukul Fouj Cultural Academy, Suchana Shilpi Ghosthi and Sangskritik Union gave cultural performances.
