No election sans grand alliance

Chittagong Divisional coordinator of Awami League-led grand alliance and City Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury yesterday said any election without participation of the grand alliance will not be allowed in the country."Any attempt or conspiracy to hold an election like that of February 15 in 1996 will be resisted," he said while inaugurating an office of the Grand Alliance at Priya Community Centre in the city's Momin Road in the afternoon. He said election resistance committee will be formed for every polling centre within a week to resist the "stage-managed" election. LDP leader Ekramul Karim, Jatiya Party leader Mazharul Haque Shah and Gono Forum leader M Kafiluddin also spoke on the occasion.
