Sources said the court in a drive under 'Operation Save WASA' unearthed the pump house located at a commercial building 'Johra Tower' adjacent to Karnaphuli Market at Agrabad Commercial Area.

Water stored in the tank is sold privately to different hotels, restaurants and residences of North Agrabad through several rickshaw vans without WASA permission.

The court with the help of WASA team disconnected the deep tubewell and seized the vans.

The court, however, could find neither the owner of the building nor the owner of the pump house.

Chittagong Port Authority Magistrate Md Munir Chowdhury, who is also acting as Chittagong WASA magistrate, led the drive.

A case was filed under WASA act in this connection.
