The expelled leaders are district BNP vice-president Md Ahad Miah, also chairman of Srimongal Pourasabha and district social welfare secretary Alauddin Rana.

Ahad Miah was expelled for his bid to contest election as an independent candidate from Moulvibazar-4 (Srimongal and Kamalganj) constituency.

Al-haj Mujibur Rahman Choudhury (Hazi Mujib) got BNP nomination in this constituency.

District BNP social welfare secretary Alauddin Rana was expelled for joining Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).

District BNP publicity secretary Bakshi Misbaur Rahman told this correspondent the decision was taken at a meeting held at Srimongal BNP office with district unit president M Naser Rahman in the chair.
