6 arms, 15 bombs recovered

Police arrested 21 criminals, including a Jubo Dal leader, and recovered six firearms, 15 explosives and ammunition from a village in Noakhali yesterday morning with the help of local people. The arms and ammunition include four pipe guns, one rifle, one LG, 15 hand-made bombs, four cartridges, one bullet, and three knives. Police rushed to Shyamergaon village in Beejbag, Senbag, as local people informed them after surrounding the criminals when they attacked three houses of their political rivals, said Motiur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Senbagh Police Station. The arrestees include local Jubo Dal leader Mainuddin, Fazal Haque, Mannan, Manik, Noman, Sajib, Titu, Rupak, Shariful, Korban, Alamgir, Rashedul Islam, Hanif, Hasan, Shamim, Daud, Saiful, Jahirul, Abdul Haque and Abul Hossain. However, local four-party alliance candidate Zainul Abedin Faruk said no arrestees are associated with Jubo Dal.
