3 JMB cadres held with 28kg power gel

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested three Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) activists from different places of the district and also recovered 56 packs (28 kgs) of power gel from one of the arrestees early yesterday. Acting on a tip-off, a joint team comprising members of Rangpur Rab and its intelligence wing in Dhaka held Hosen Ali, 48, from his house at Purbochan Ghat under Kounia upazila and recovered the power gel, Rab-5 chief Maj Hamdur said. Earlier at 3:00 am, the team picked up Mojibor Miah, 42, from his house at the same place. They also arrested another member of the banned Islamist militant outfit Abul Khaer, 23, of Khoddo Tampat under Sadar upazila from the house of one Muchha Miah of Purbo Goneshpur. The Rab-5 chief said they would continue hunting of the JMB militants as they have information about their regrouping to conduct fresh attacks in the country ahead of the execution of the death sentences of the convicted JMB kingpins.
