Six muggers on 3-day remand

Six muggers who snatched Tk 17 lakh from the manger of Bulbul Textile Mills Ltd inside a bank in Motijheel were taken on three-day remand yesterday. Of the amount, Tk 2.81 lakh were recovered from the possession of the muggers yesterday and Tk 12.6 lakh on Saturday. The mugging took place on Thursday and the police arrested six muggers -- Abdul Hannan, Jasim Molla, Babul, Noor Ali, Billal and Dulal -- on Friday and Saturday. The muggers told the police that they had spent the remaining amount. The victim identified the muggers from the CCTV footage, police said.
