Guardians protest admission fee hike

Guardians of the students of Motijheel Ideal School and College yesterday staged demonstration in front of the school protesting the increase of admission fees for class six.

Shutting down the two main gates of the school, several hundred guardians gathered in front of the school at 10:00am and continued their demonstration till 12:30pm protesting the decision of hiking the admission fee.

The guardians alleged that the authorities concerned have increased the admission fee three times without consulting them.

Last year, the admission fee for class six was Tk 1850, but this year it has been increased to Tk 6250, guardians pointed out.

Due to demonstration of the guardians and shut down of the gates, several hundred students of the morning shift could not come out and many students of second shift could not enter the school in due time, alleged school authorities.

They said they will hold a meeting with the managing committee very soon and take a decision considering the guardians' demand.
