First Div begins on Feb 10

A new look First Division cricket league will begin on February 10. After Young Pegasus B and Mariners Youngs Club were restored into this season's competition, the Cricket Committee of Dhaka Metropoliton (CCDM) decided to split the 20-team league into two groups.

Four top teams from each group will qualify to the eight-team super league while the bottom two from each group will fight it out in the relegation league. Points from the initial stage will carry over to the next round of games.

Young Pegasus B (also known as Baridhara) and Mariners withdrew their court case with the CCDM regarding two matches and as a result, their demotion to the Second Division was stopped.

Meanwhile, the players' transfers will begin on January 24 and conclude on January 26.
