11 sued for 'embezzling'school fund

Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Commissioner Nazmul Haque Monday night filed an FIR with Sonadanga Police Station as a complainant accusing 11 persons for misappropriating over Tk 50 lakh from the fund of South Herald English Medium School. The KMP commissioner is ex-officio chairman of the governing body of the school. The accused include Chief Engineer of Khulna Development Authority (KDA) ATM Wahid Azhar, Proprietor of Hotel Millenium, industrialist Sharifuzzaman Topy and prominent physician Dr Abdul Malek, all members of the governing body of the school.
