Police identified the victim, Iqbal Hossain, as a professional killer, but failed to say the number of cases, which were filed against him.

According to Khilkhet police, Iqbal was killed near road no. 3 of Nikunja-1 area at around 9:30 pm in 'crossfire' with the Rab-1 members.

A Rab man who went to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, however, claimed he died during a shootout between two groups of criminals.

Khilkhet police recovered the body and sent to DMCH for autopsy.

They said a revolver and a mobile phone were found with Iqbal.

The DMCH sources said there were three bullet marks on his chest and abdomen. There were also injury marks on his whole body.

However, officials of both the offices of Rab-1 and Khilkhet police failed to say exactly the reason behind his arrest.
