Army members arrest three muggers


Members of the army caught three muggers while they were fleeing after robbing a Grameen Bank staff of Tk 33,000 at Samspur in Srinagar yesterday.

The arrestees were identified as Shohag, 25, Prince, 25, and Pappu, 27, of Mirpur in Dhaka.

The muggers attacked Grameen Bank staff Bashir Ahmed and snatched the money at gunpoint at noon.

Acting on information, an army team caught the three and recovered the money. A revolver and a knife were also found in their possession.

A case has been filed with Srinagar Police Station.

Meanwhile, a team of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested two notorious criminals from Srinagar Bazar at noon.

The two -- Hanif Member, 40 and Alek Member, 36, -- are accused in a murder case. They were taken to Rab-11 camp at Bhaggyakul.
