B. League bosses still sleeping

The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) may defer the start of the B. League by a day or two if the sponsors demand.

The BFF's main headache remains to get a sponsor for the inaugural Professional Football League scheduled to kick off on February 15, but the governing body of the game expected to strike a deal within two-three days, it was discussed in an executive meeting of the federation yesterday.

BFF's communications manager Sayeed Al Fatah told The Daily Star last night after the meeting that the sponsors, in a bid to get more exposure, might be interested to delay the start of the league and the BFF is ready to meet that demand.

The BFF formed a four-member bylaws committee for all competitions headed by its vice-president Monir Ahmed. It also retained the current players' status committee. The disciplinary and appeal committees would be formed later while president SA Sultan has been given the responsibility to form his emergency committee.

Surprisingly, the new tournament committee of the B. League was not submitted to the EC. Chairman Abdur Rahim and co-chairman Sirajul Islam Bachchu were told to form the league committee in the last EC meeting on January 18.

The Senior Division teams will be able to register three foreign players with two able to play in a league match, it was also approved.
