Student stabbed, robbed of mobile phone

Muggers stabbed a Stamford University student in the city's Kotwali area yesterday afternoon and snatched his mobile phone.Sources said the victim, Nirjoy Hossain, 20, a first year BBA student of the university's Shiddheswari branch, was returning to his Ganderia residence from Gulistan by a rickshaw. When he reached Roy Shaheb Bazar area, a gang of three intercepted the rickshaw and asked him to give money and mobile phone to them. As Nirjoy refused to comply, the gang stabbed him in the abdomen and took away the mobile phone. He was admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
