Appeal for help

A garment worker has appealed for financial assistance for the treatment of his wife who has been suffering from cancer.

Razia Sultana, a mother of two, is now fighting for her life as cancer has spread to different parts of her body.

Razia, 37, underwent mastectomy after she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. But that could not stop the spread of cancer. Razia has been under treatment of Dr Kazi Manzur Kader at Rainbow Heart Hospital.

Her husband has already sold off all their properties to pay the treatment cost of about Tk 7 lakh. Still, he needs about Tk 4,000 a day to continue the treatment.

But it is not possible for her husband, an employee of Lilac Garments, to collect such a huge amount. Her family is also facing severe financial hardship that forced her son and daughter, who are twins, to stop their studies.

Her husband appeals to philanthropic people and organisations to extend a helping hand.

Contributions can be sent to Savings A/C No. 6946, Uttara Bank, Sadarghat branch, or Mohammad Nurul Islam, Lilac Garments, Rupali Market, 7/B Chittaranjan Avenue, Sadarghat, Dhaka-1100. (Phone: 7115841)
