DIG of Police (Dhaka range) Baharul Alam has replaced SM Mizanur Rahman as the Rab DG.

Before his posting to the elite crime busters unit, Mizan had served two days as the chief of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID). Before that, he was the commissioner of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) till October 31.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nur Mohammad said the changes would bring dynamism in the police administration. "I think these will ensure better performance of our officers," said the police boss.

According to an establishment ministry circular, DIG (the police headquarters) Sheikh Sazzad Ali was transferred to Dhaka range.

Additional Commissioner of the Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP) Mahbub Muhasin was made additional DIG of Rajshahi range while DMP Joint Commissioner Manjur Kader Khan was transferred to the Sylhet Metropolitan Police (SMP).

Joint Commissioner of the Detective Branch (DB-Dhaka police) Shahidul Islam was made commandant of Noakhali Police Training College (PTC) while Additional DIG of Khulna range Abdul Jalil and Khulna PTC Commandant Humayun Kabir were made joint commissioners of the DMP.

Rajshahi range Additional DIG Abdullah Al Azad Chowdhury was made commandant of Khulna PTC while Noakhali PTC commandant Asaduzzaman Miah was made additional DIG of Khulna.

Kohinoor Mia, the controversial police officer who was attached to the headquarters as an SP, was made OSD for Rajshahi range.

Dhaka SP Abdur Rahman Khan was transferred to Sardah Police Academy, Meer Rezaul Alam was shifted to the DMP as a deputy commissioner (DC) from Narayanganj, and Manikganj SP Fazlur Rahman was made director of Dhaka Police Staff College.

SP Netrakona Monir Hossain was made commander of 8th Armed Police Battalion (APBn), SP Tangail Mohammad Israil Hawlader DC of the SMP, SP Faridpur AKM Masudul Alam DC of the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) while SP Madaripur Motiur Rahman was made assistant inspector general (AIG) at the headquarters.

Meantime, SP Chittagong Sheikh Omar Farooq was made director of Dhaka Police Staff College, SP Cox's Bazar Anwar Kamal commander of Reserve Range Force (RRF) in Rajshahi, and SP Bandarban Mohammad Monirul Islam was made special superintendent of police (SS) of the Special Branch (SB).

SP of Noakhali Ansar Uddin Khan Pathan was transferred to Sardah Police Academy and SP Laxmipur Rezaul Karim Mollick was made AIG at the headquarters.

SP Feni Sibgatullah was transferred to Narayanganj, SP Comilla Abul Khayer was made 10th APBn commander, SP of Khulna M Nazmul Karim Khan was made a DC of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), SP Narail Hasanul Haider was made AIG (confidential) at the headquarters, SP Barisal Ashrafur Rahman was made SP of the Highway Police (west), SP Kurigram Bhanulal Das was transferred to Sardah Police Academy and SP Pabna Monjur Morshed Alam was transferred to APBn Barbunia, Rangamati.

DCs of the DMP, Lokman Hakim was sent to Barisal Metropolitan Police (BMP), SM Rokonuddin was made SP Laxmipur, Ali Hossain Fakir was made commandant of Sylhet RRF, Mahbubur Rahman was transferred to the RMP and Kusum Dewan was made SP Faridpur.

DCs of the RMP, YM Belalur Rahman was made SP of Khulna and Selim Mohammad Jahangir was transferred to the DMP. DC BMP Meer Shahidul Islam was made SP of Comilla while AIGs of the police headquarters Rafiqul Islam was made SP Mymensingh and Abdullah Al Mamun SP Manikganj.

SP of the Highway Police SM Mazum Rabbani was made SP Pabna, AIG (telecom) Humayun Kabir was made commander of Mohalchhari APBn, Khagrachhari, while SP of Dhaka Police Staff College Shafiqul Islam was made commander of Chittagong APBn.

SSs of the SB K Mohid Uddin and Mainul Hasan were made DCs of the DMP while Qamrul Ahsan was made SP Chittagong. SPs of Sardah Police Academy Didar Ahmed was made SP Rajshahi and Masudur Rahman Bhuiyan was made DC DMP.

Commandant of RRF Rajshahi Maruf Hasan was made SP Tangail, DC DMP Harunur Rashid Hazari was made SP Feni, commander of Chittagong APBn Banoj Kumar Majumder was made SP Cox's Bazar, commandant of Betbunia Police Special Training School (PSTS) Abdul Jalil Mondol was made SS of the SB while SS of the CID M Maniruzzaman was made SP Rajbari.

AIG at the police headquarters Khasrul Haq was made SS at the CID, Sylhet RRF commandant Debdas Bhattacharya was made SP Madaripur, SS of the CID Ibrahim Fatemy was made SP Dhaka, DC DMP Kazi Mortaz Ahmed was sent to the BMP, DC KMP Anwar Hossain was transferred to the DMP while SP Munshiganj Jahangir Hossain Matubbar was made commander of Dhaka APBn.

Commander of Bogra APBn M Mahbubur Rahman swapped positions with DC DMP Delwar Hossain Mia.

SP Mymensingh Aurangajeb Mahbub was made SS of the SB, SP Joypurhat Tanvir Haider Chowdhury was transferred to the DMP while SP Rajshahi Mahbub Alam was made DC of the SMP.

DC KMP Shakhawat Hossain was made SP Netrakona, SS CID Biswas Afzal Hossain was made SP Munshiganj, SP Rajbari Firoz Al Mujahid Khan was made AIG (telecom), SS SB Abdullahel Baki was made SP Sylhet while commander of APBn Uttara Mushfequr Rahman was made SP of Noakhali.
