Kaif fans burn Pawar effigy

Supporters of cricketer Moham-mad Kaif here burnt effigies of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) president Sharad Pawar and selection committee chairman Dilip Vengsarkar to protest the non-inclusion of Kaif in the Indian squad for the World Cup.

The protestors gathered at the civil lines crossing and gave slogans against Pawar and Vengsarkar and accused them of "discriminating" against players from Uttar Pradesh.

"If performance is the criterion then why is Virender Sehwag in the team despite putting up a poor show for quite some time," they questioned.
