The England A cricket team were scheduled to arrive in Dhaka in the early hours of today to play two four-dayers and three one-day matches against their Bangladesh counterparts.

The second string English side, who have five players with ODI experiences, will launch their campaign with a three-day warm-up match against BCB Academy team on February 17 at the Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.

The first Test (4-day) will begin from February 22 at the same venue and the second four-dayer will take place at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra from March 1.

The three limited-over games are scheduled for March 7 (Bogra), 9 and 11 (Mirpur).

Squad: Michael Yardy (captain), Stuart Broad, Michael Carberry, Nick Compton, Steven Davies, Will Jefferson, Amjad Khan, Alex Loudon, Graham Onions, Matthew Prior (wicketkeeper), Adil Rashid, Tom Smith and Tim Bresnan.

SCHOOLS CRICKET
A hurricane half century by Anik guided Monipur High School to a 53-run victory over Kalshi Islamia High School in the Standard Chartered Young Tigers National School Cricket Tournament at the East End Club ground yesterday.

Anik smashed a 39-ball 89 as Monipur scored 160-8 in the stipulated 20 overs. Kalshi were bundled out for 107 in 13.3 overs.

At the Kalindi Club ground, Islamia Adarsha High School defeated Mirpur Adarsha Biddaniketon by 55 runs. In reply to Islamia's 151 all out in 19 overs, Mirpur Adarsha batted full 20 overs to finish on 96-6.

JUNIOR CHESS
Nine players shared the lead in the 28th National Junior Chess Championship after the third round. All nine had maximum three points. Among the joint leaders, Sagar beat Titli, Liza beat Abir, Sharif beat Siam, Saif beat Sabbir, Simon beat Faruki, Pavel beat Raju, Mahin beat Saiful, Nipu beat Annie and Alam beat Shafkat.

CRICKET FRIENDLY
BRAC Bank inflicted a massive 148-run defeat on Al Falah Bank in a friendly cricket match at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium.

Ferdous smashed 89 as BRAC amassed 236 in the allotted 30 overs before restricting their opponents to 88-9. BRAC's Mahbub was adjudged the man-of-the-match after grabbing 5-11.

BUET SPORTS
The annual sports of Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) will be held today at the BUET ground.

Vice-chancellor Dr AMM Shafiullah will declare the meet open in the morning. All the eight BUET halls will compete in 22 events of the daylong meet.
