China urged to speed up currency reform

US Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson said Tuesday the large US trade imbalance with China will remain until "structural issues" are addressed, and urged Beijing to step up the pace of currency reforms. "We need more flexibility" in the exchange rate policy on the yuan, Paulson told reporters at the Treasury.
