On information from locals, Mirpur police recovered the bruised body of a newborn female from a dustbin in Mirpur Section 2 at around 8:00am yesterday, police said.

There were marks of half-inch-deep wounds in its back, said the inquest report of police.

Dakkhin Khan police recovered the body of a five-day-old female from a dustbin near Hotel Shubha at Ashkona on Thursday evening.

Police said the baby, wearing warm clothes and wrapped in a quilt, might have been thrown there after killing. Morgue sources said the infant might have been killed through suffocation.

Informed by the locals, Gulshan police on Thursday afternoon recovered the body of a newborn boy from under a manhole at Kalachanpur in the city.

The three bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy.
