Majid took five wickets to help Bakhrabad High School to a facile 85-run win over Residential School and College in the Standard Chartered National School Cricket tournament at the Housing Estate ground yesterday.He took 5-24 to shoot out Residential for only 77 runs in 17.1 overs as they faced upto chase 163 set by Bakhrabad. In far flung Kalindi Club ground, Dhaka Government Muslim High School beat St Joseph High School by six wickets. Rasulpur High school and Palashpole high school won their respective zonal matches today in the Standard Chartered Young Tigers National School Cricket Tournament. SATKHIRA SCHOOL CRICKET Rasulpur High School defeated PN High School by 60 runs at Satkhira Government College ground. Winning the toss, Rasulpur High School scored 142 runs while in reply, PN High School were bowled out for 82. At Satkhira Stadium, Palashpole High School defeated Palli Mongal High School by 23 runs. BSWA SEMINAR Sports Adviser Tapan Chowdhury will attend a seminar titled, 'Inactive Sports: Road to Success' at the NSC Tower today. The symposium is organised by Bangladesh Sports Writers Association and will be attended by legend Kazi Salahuddin, among others. NATIONAL JUNIOR CHESS Shamima Akhter and Sharif Hossain are jointly at the top of the Basic Bank 28th National Junior Chess competition. Both have earned five points each after beating Minhazuddin and Abdullah Al Saif in respective matches.
