Indigenous performing art festival at Shilpakala

A seven-day indigenous performing art festival, arranged by Department of Theatre and Film, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA), will begin at the Experimental Theatre Stage from February 22. Indigenous performing art forms such as Gazir Gaan, Shong Pala, Kissa Gaan, Manik Pirer Gaan, Alkap, Royani, Kushan Gaan will be staged by the folk artistes from Jessore, Tangail, Kishoregonj, Kushtia, Chapainawabganj, Barisal, and Kurigram. Officials of Department of Theatre and Film informed that the festival is a part of a fortnight workshop on indigenous performing art form arranged by the department. The participants of the workshop are the students of theatre departments at university level. And the festival has been arranged to showcase the performances of the folk artistes.
