Water-tank Blast
3 succumb to injuries


Three people, who were injured in an underground water-tank explosion at East-West University on Wednesday, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital yesterday.

With the three, the death toll in the explosion rose to four.

Those who died yesterday are Monsur Sarder, 27, Idris Mia, 22, and Golam Mostofa, 23. They all hailed from Agailzhara upazila of Barisal.

The explosion occurred when six people climbed down the darkened water-tank with burning sticks.

As the sticks came in contact with toxic gas accumulated in the tank, it exploded with a big bang, leaving one named Lal Mia, 35, dead and five others injured.

The injured were admitted to the DMCH.The remaining two are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
