Bogra deputy jailer summarily released after BNP man met Nasir in Jail

Bogra Deputy Jailer Fazlul Haque was stand released yesterday morning following the meeting between a BNP leader and detained former state minister for civil aviation Mir Nasiruddin on Saturday.Departmental proceeding was also drawn against Sub-Inspector Saiful Islam of Bogra Sadar Police Station allegedly for neglecting duty and allowing BNP leader Mahabubur Rahman to meet Mir Nasir, sources said. Fazlul Haque will join the Rajshahi Central Jail. As per rules, no one except family members can meet a detainee once a month. Mir Nasir, who fell ill at Bogra Jail after hearing the news of his son Mir Helaluddin's arrest on Friday afternoon, was shifted from hospital to Bogra Jail at about 11:30am yesterday "as he was feeling better", hospital sources said.
