Passarella given community service
Afp, Buenos Aires
River Plate coach Daniel Passarella has been handed 27 months of community service after being convicted of the illegal importing of a yacht, judiciary sources said Thursday. Passarella, a former Argentina coach and player, will have to spend six hours a week over two years and three months working for free in a public school in the capital Buenos Aires. The World Cup winner was found guilty of contraband having declared in 1997 a value of 70,000 dollars and submitted falsified documents when bringing into the country a yacht he bought in the United States for around 160,000 dollars.
