Injured Chivu in Romania squad

Romania coach Victor Piturca named captain Cristian Chivu in his squad on Friday for the Euro 2008 qualifiers against Netherlands and Luxembourg later this month.The defender underwent surgery after breaking his nose in several places during AS Roma's 2-0 Champions League win at Olympique Lyon on Tuesday. Doctors said they would decide next week if Chivu could play against Netherlands on March 24 and Luxembourg four days later. Players from the domestic championship will complete the squad later this month. Romania are third in Group G with seven points from three matches. Netherlands are top with 10 points from four games.
