The arrestee was identified as Shahadat Hossain Khokon, who allegedly used to extort money from the traders of Nilkhet area.

Khokon's gang hijacked Tk 50 thousand from a trader of Bakushah market two days ago. However, the mob caught Mithu, younger brother of Khokon, and handed him over to Lalbagh Police Station.

Later police arrested Khokon on the charge of mugging yesterday.

It is learnt that Bakushah market traders caught Khokon on January 30 while taking extortion money and handed him over to Nilkhet police.

He came out on bail recently and again began to extort money, traders alleged.
