Nor'wester kills one in Sylhet

One person was killed by lightning as a nor'wester battered parts of Sylhet Sadar usazila and Barlekha in Moulvibazar in the early hours of yesterday. Badrul, 32, was killed at his house in Gafargaon village. The nor'wester accompanied by rain razed to the ground at least 200 houses and snapped power supply in Sylhet Sadar uoazila and parts of the city till about 2 pm yesterday, officials said. It damaged Boro crops on about 20,000 acres in the Sadar upazila, agriculture officials said.
