"Of vices and vice-chancellors"

This is in reference to an article written by Shahnoor Wahid.

Being amused, I could not help myself quoting a nice and nay, an appropriate quotation in this connection here. I discovered it in a conversation with the chairman of an organisation that I once belonged to. Being loved by him, I was very free with him, despite my rank and status in comparison.

One day, seeing the files not being cleared in the time it deserved, I said to my chairman, "Sir, you need to create the post of vice-chairman" which was taken by him smilingly. He said, "Provided he is not full of vices." I was amused by his sharp reply that I still remember. As referred to in the article, the very word 'vice' in designation of positions should better be replaced with some suitable word like 'Deputy' etc.
