Fares of water transports increased
Fares of water transports have been increased to Tk 1.00 per kilometre (km) from Tk 0.90 for a distance of up to 100km and Tk 0.80 per km from Tk 0.75 for a distance of over 100km, a press release of Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Authority (BIWTA) said yesterday.The new fare takes effect today across the country and the minimum commuter rate is Tk 9.00, the release mentioned. BIWTA raised the fare following price hike of fuel from Tk 7 to Tk 9 per litre.
