Dr N A Mitra, 55, owner of a pharmacy called Subarna Medical Hall at Banglabazar and a resident of Debendo Das Lane at Sutrapur, fell from the rooftop of the under-construction building at Gulistan at 6:15pm.

Police rushed him to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

"Mitra left the pharmacy at noon without saying anything about where he is going," said Bikash Chandra, an employee of the Medical Hall.

An unnatural death case was filed with Paltan Police Station in this connection.
