ICC Cricket World Cup 2007
What a win!

It's an answer to them who call the 'Tigers' time & again minnows. It's an answer to the media who called the win against India a fluke. After beating world number 1 South Africa we have completely buried those dark memories of the past when we only lost match after match. It may be called by the world media an upset, but it's not an upset. We beat Australia, India, and Sri Lanka & New Zealand in the recent past. Those wins proved that Bangladesh are capable of beating any opponent any time anywhere in the world. From the beginning of the Bangladesh innings our batsmen showed the character. Thanks to Tamim & Javed for their dogged innings that paved the way for a big innings. After the early hiccup, Aftab Ahmed & Mohammed Ashraful showed why they are considered the most talented batsmen in the country. I will never forget those two lusty sixes that Aftab hit. Ashraful proved himself a big match player. He brings back the memory of Cardiff where we beat the then number one team, Australia. Mashrafee helped Bangladesh to cross the 250 mark for the first time in a World Cup match. Thanks to Rassel for his early breakthrough when he removed both Smith & Kallis. The bowling of the spin trio was fantastic. It also exposed the African batsmen's inability to cope with spin. Well done, boys.
